I saw Max Wall with Trevor Peacock and Garry Waldhorn in the revival of 'Godot' at the Royal Exchange in Manchester in the 80's. Up to that point I had been intimidated by theatre, but he broke down that wall (excuse the pun) and I realised that a lived in face and experience could squeeze much more out of a text than any amount of 'training'. I didn't go on to work in theatre, but haven't lost my love for it. I was actually looking for a picture of Max to accompany an entry on my blog and your post came as a pleasant surprise.
